About
The Diagnosis

In 2005, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Adjusting to the illness came in time, but misconceptions and stereotypes meant having to explain things to people almost daily. This got me looking for ways to support diabetic research, and eventually I thought about starting my own clothing brand.

The Treatment

Cure Apparel was founded in 2008 after putting together a single shirt design using stock vector art and a super old version of Illustrator. (I thought I knew what I was doing...) Since then, we have printed numerous tees, made tons of new friends, sold products around the globe, and donated funds to JDRF in support of diabetic research.
