Diabetic Journal Web Application

8 October 2011 Add Comment

Today I thought about writing a diabetic journal web application to help me keep track of meals, blood sugars, and notes. I think it'd be helpful for me to plug in all my info whenever I feel like it and then be able to run reports on the data and see exactly what is going on. I try to do this with writing stuff down, but doing it electronically has a lot of advantages. Maybe I can even write a mobile version so that we could access our data and make new entries from any mobile device. If this sounds interesting to anyone let me know. Maybe we can test it out together!

A lot has been going on over the past few months, and I haven't found the time to do much blogging here on the site. Gotta get back into it! Since the last post I've tested out a Dexcom CGM and moved to Philadelphia, Jeff Finley's book Thread's Not Dead has gone into print (check us out in the book), and Cure Apparel turned up in AP Magazine! If you pick up the November issue make sure to check us out in the style guide.

Type 1 Rider the Film

On twitter the other day, I came across this amazing project called Type 1 Rider the Film. The documentary follows 42 year-old Tony Cervati, a type 1 diabetic who will bike 2,800 miles this June from Canada to Mexico. I seriously could not be more excited for Tony's journey and the Taproot Films documentary. His passion and determination are inspiring and he proves that there is nothing that can stop diabetics from doing anything they put their mind to. Taproot Films needs help finishing the film, so please watch the trailer and visit their site. You can donate to the project and possibly get a credit in the film.

We are excited to announce the launch of Cure Apparel's new website and online shop. It took a few weeks of brainstorming, sketching, coding, making changes, and re-coding, but finally the site is live and we are thrilled with the result. (In the photos below, you can see an initial sketch and one of the first color schemes we tried.) To celebrate the launch, everything in the shop is 20% off through Sunday, May 22nd. Just use the code LAUNCH2011 when checking out!
